How do I apply for an online MBA degree?

Amazingly, the application process for an online MBA program is nearly identical to that of an offline program.  You need to take the GMAT, write a few essays, request recommendations and fill out the application form online - Exactly what you'd need to do for an offline program.  The fact that the processes are identical is very good for the online programs, as they seek to increase their acceptance among employers.

Will I get the same results from an online MBA program as an offline program?

Yes and No.  You will certainly take the same classes and complete the same coursework.  In fact studies have shown that online students learn as much as traditional offline students.  However, online MBA programs are not particularly well suited for improving public speaking skills and building a network of other MBA students.

Online MBA programs typically attract older students as they are more established in their careers and don't need to improve their public speaking skills and already have a substantial business network. If you are more interested in learning the ins and outs of corporate finance or management theory, then an online degree program may be right for you.
